The Publication, “Through the Lens of the Media: A Report on Public Perception of the Nigeria Police Vol1” is the outcome of two years of monitoring and documenting selected newspaper reports on the Nigeria Police. It covers a period from January 2010 to September 2011. Media reports relating to the activities, practices and performance of the police to track and map out trends of police abuse and brutality and how this threatens and impedes police reform in Nigeria. The documentation of news reports about the police among other things provide reliable data and information on the operations, conduct and performance of the Nigeria Police. The report is divided into sections dealing with various themes including:
