Our Programme Officer, Precious Osinaku participated in a two-day policy retreat with the theme “Civilian Oversight of Police in Nigeria” organized by UNDP in Nigeria, CLEEN Foundation, and the Police Service Commission in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The purpose of the retreat amongst others included strengthening, clarifying, and coordinating the understanding of the oversight mandate of different agencies as contained in the Police Act, 2020.

As part of the retreat, Precious presented the findings of a UNDP in Nigeria-supported project led by the NOPRIN Foundation on “Strengthening the Oversight and Accountability of Police Detention Facilities in Nigeria”.
